Regular Workshop
This six week class is open to anyone who wants to explore the many ways that jewelry is designed and created. Students will learn basic skills such as working with wire, sawing sheet metal, filing, soldering sheet and wire and how to make a simple setting for a stone. Students can expect to leave the six weeks with at least a couple of finished projects and a basic skill set that will allow them to take any of the weekend workshops the studio offers.
Students who already have experience are also welcome to join the class, either to brush up on their basic skill set or to work more independently on more advanced projects. Students who decide to continue into session 2 will continue to work on building a basic skill set, working on more advanced projects. The studio will provide copper and brass for students to work with, as well as a cabochon stone to set. Students who wish to work in silver will have to provide their own, although the instructor will have some for sale. |
