Regular Workshop


This six week class is open to anyone who is interested in learning the basics of jewelry making and metalsmithing. Basic skills such as working with wire, sawing, piercing and filing sheet metal and basic soldering techniques will be covered. Instructor will also discuss how to plan and layout a project.

  • -Basic tools required to make jewelry
  • -How to bend and form wire
  • -How to saw and file sheet metal
  • -How to solder wire and sheet
  • -How to clean and polish a finished piece


Students will work with copper and brass but may bring their own sterling silver if they wish. Students who have experience and who are already working on projects are welcome to join this class as a Directed Open Studio. They will be able to review their basic skill set and receive individual instruction on projects of their own design.
