Directed Open Studio Session #2 with: Lessley Burke

All levels are welcome in this six week class. The first two weeks will focus on soldering - how to solder, different ways to solder, how to set your piece up for the best results and what to do when it all goes wrong. The second two weeks will focus on stone setting - how to make a simple bezel, how to modify a bezel to best integrate it into your piece, what to do if you have a faceted stone or an irregular shaped stone. The last three weeks will focus on finishing - how to get rid of excess solder and clean up the inevitable mess a piece always seems to become just before its finished. Students will learn about all the options available for cleaning and polishing their pieces and how to use the flex shaft. All Levels are welcome to join this class. There will be at least one teaching assistant on hand in addition to the instructor so students will be able to get individual help.
